Climate Resilient and
Inclusive Cities Project

Where does our waste end up? In Pekanbaru, like many other cities, it ends up in a landfill or that which is not transported ends up in the river or burned.

This transport and disposal (pick up and dump) pattern has an impact on the decline in the quality of the urban environment, including climate change. Through the Climate Resilient and Inclusive Cities Project, the Pekanbaru City Government is committed to building more responsible waste management behaviour starting from the household scale to create a Pekanbaru City that is healthy, liveable and resilient in the face of climate change.
